This 2bular valved system weighs 13Kgs. I designed it for a 'Road' car - IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR TRACK USE - TOO HEAVY/TOO LOUD! The only difference between the earlier 2bular 70mm valved systems is the link-pipe to the downpipe flexy section. On these later cars, the factory link-pipe is 76mm dia to butt-join (NOT slip-on) against the existing 76mm 4*** downpipe. USA cars have a V-band connector to their '3rd' catalyser just after the bend from the flexy.
With the exhaust valve CLOSED the exhaust gases are fed through a 63.5mm dia perforated section for 'quiet' operation - this diameter is the same as the factory system when the exhaust valve is OPEN. The perforated section is packed with Acoustafil ZT-1 material and the note is just as quiet as the factory system with its valve closed.
When the 2bular exhaust valve is OPEN, the exhaust gases are fed through a 70mm dia plain pipe straight to the tailpipes - (factory is 63.mm dia) - there is ZERO noise reduction. The sound is not replicated accurately on the internet/youtube etc. That 70mm bore helps create a scream/wail as only an open-exhaust supercharged V6 can deliver - it is very special and I am very pleased as I thought the factory exhaust sound was good enough.
THIS IS NOT A TRACK EXHAUST. Apart from it being too noisy, if some idiot aftermarket supplier (yes, there are a couple I can think of) offer you a switch to keep the exhaust valve closed to help with trackday noise-limits, ask for a written guarantee that it won't damage the valve or the exhaust silencer.
I think the OEM trapezoidal tip is hideous. Only 2bular offer 100mm dia tailpipe options - no way do I use the 2ZZ oval tip! Titanium is an expensive commodity in the best of times - but it's becoming ridiculous now! It's a quality exhaust, I hand-build/TIG-weld all pipework and I use a V-band connector on the link-pipe/system and on the tailpipe module to allow some adjustment on tailpipe angle in the diffuser.
ONLY 2BULAR SUPPLIES ITS OWN DE-CAT/LINK-PIPE FROM THE DOWNPIPE FLEXY 2-BOLT FLANGE TO THE SILENCER. I USE A V-BAND CONNECTOR FOR AN EXCELLENT GAS-TIGHT SEAL. NO BLACK GUNK DROPPED ONTO THE SHINY ANTI-ROLL BAR HEAT-WRAP.
