There are two installs on the Toyota-engined Elises which destroy their factory catalysers more than the other motors. One is the 2ZZ Elise SC model. The other is this one - the 2ZR motor! Some barely lasting to the first service!
The factory 2ZR manifold has a different 2-bolt flange compared to the 2ZZ and a different bore downpipe to the catalyser. This downpipe is 60mm diameter. Any larger and you're damaging torque. I have seen 70mm and 76mm pipework on other offerings. Very sad - very ignorant!
I USE THE HIGHEST SPEC EURO 5/6 121MM DIAMETER HJS HD DIRECTIONAL CATALYSER ON THESE INSTALLS. NO PROBLEMS WITH EMISSION TESTS AND NO CEL. (check engine light).
Only 2bular designs and builds an HJS HD directional catalyser to fit to the 2ZR factory manifold.
The gasket cup is TIG-welded to the flange. A unique 2bular feature. Forget about other aftermarket offerings with loose flanges and bigger bore downpipe - only 2bular pays attention to these parts. Correct bore, correct flange.
I SUPPLY AN EXTENDED LAMBDA WIRING TAIL TO REACH THE INLET CONE ON THE CATALYSER PLUS A NEW DONUT GASKET.
