With the manifold facing the firewall, running under/between the engine/gearbox and back towards the rear of the car, this is a loooonnnnggg pipe compared to the later Toyota-engined designs! Like most mid-engined installs, the factory K-Series manifold is a dreadful piece of kit, performance-wise. This 2bular 4-2-1 design uses 1 5/8"dia primaries into 1 7/8"dia secondaries and a final pipe diameter of 2 1/4". All-stainless construction, TIG-welded throughout, with proper merged 2-1 collectors (no squashed bits of tin) - performance gains are impressive.
I remember many years ago building this design on an S1 Exige. Looking at the restrictive clearances everywhere and sweating cobs! The only concern about heat was the primary pipe next to the alternator and I would certainly recommend heat-wrapping that pipe in that area.
Catalyser: A Euro 6 spec, 200cell HJS design - extremely efficient - extremely reliable. Up to you. I have had so many complaints relayed to me about other aftermarket catalysers failing their first MoT. A lot of money wasted on 100cell catalysers which will never pass a UK emissions test!
